Eggnog Cheesecake – A Christmas Treat!

Eggnog is a drink that is usually enjoyed during the holiday season starting with Thanksgiving and ending with New Year’s Eve, and is a popular holiday beverage in both the United States and Canada. A dairy base either milk or cream (or a combination of both) is mixed with sugar and eggs to create a frothy and custard-like drink. Eggnog is usually spiced with cinnamon and/or nutmeg, and is often made into an “adult” version by adding brandy or rum.

Celebrate National Apple Month!

Originally started as National Apple Week in 1904, it has since expanded to a full month in celebration of the apple. The apple is one of the most popular fruits in the United States and is grown in over half of the fifty states. Due to its national popularity, the apple has made its way into many different recipes and is a staple fruit in many households.

Whether we want to admit it or not, it is officially fall. We have passed the autumnal equinox this year which means according to the calendar, we are officially in fall “mode.” The weather is slowly starting to cool in many parts of the country and fall activities such as apple picking, fairs, heading back to school, and raking leaves are all well-underway. It is time to take the sweaters out of storage and start gearing up for crisp, cool evenings.
