Easy Easter Bunny Cake

Understatement: Holidays can be hectic. There’s planning and cleaning and cooking and baking and no matter how much you plan ahead, there’s just never enough time in the day.

That’s why we love tips and recipes that take the stress out of entertaining. And when we stumbled across this easy bunny cake tutorial, we knew we had to test it out. You can use any kind of cake you’d like to create this adorable dessert, but for our experiment we used store-bought mix (which we found to be surprisingly good)!

Supplies:
Vanilla Cake Mix
Vanilla Frosting
Coconut Shavings
Heavy Paper (such as cardstock or watercolor paper)

Steps:

Bake the cake as directed using two 9-inch pans. After it’s done baking, cut one of the cakes in half.Step-1

Evenly frost the flatter side of one of the two halves, then press the flat sides of the cake together and stand it up.Step-2

Cut into the cake to form a tail and use the detached section to form the bunny’s head. Use frosting to secure the cut-out section from the main cake. Frost the rest of the cake and then dust with coconut shavings. Step-3

To complete the dessert, cut bunny ears out of a thick paper (we brushed some red water color paint on the centers of ours) and then push them into the cake, just behind the head. Step-4

Pretty adorable, huh? And, for a larger crowd, you can use both 9-inch cakes to make make two bunnies!
