New York Style Cheesecake Recipe



  • 12 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs


  • 1 c. graham cracker crumbs
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • 7 Tbs. melted butter

Foods for Garnish:
Chocolate glaze (recipe below)
Whipped cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Beat the cream cheese and then mix in sugar and vanilla while beating until well blended. Add in eggs and combine. Pour mixture into prepared crust. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, top with chocolate glaze, cherries, and whipped cream.

In a medium size bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the butter and sugar. Mix well and pour into an 8-inch springform cake pan. Make sure to press against the sides and bottom of the pan. Place into oven and bake for 8 minutes. Let cool.

Chocolate Glaze:

  • ¼ c. butter
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 2 1-oz. squares of semi-sweet chocolate
  • ¼ c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ c. heavy whipping cream
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

In a medium saucepan melt butter over medium-low heat. Add chocolate to the butter. Whisk in sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, whipping cream, and salt until well combined. Cook over medium-low heat for 2 minutes – while constantly whisking.
